Stacked pork & beef sausage pizza with broccoli, peppers, black olives and havarti cheese

Ingredients Preparation Products
  • 4 Greek pita bread (or cooked pizza crust)
  • 6 Authentic Pork & Beef Sausages
  • 250 ml (1 cup) tomato sauce
  • 150 g (¾ cup) broccoli florets (not the stem)
  • 150 g (¾ cup) red, yellow and green peppers, diced
  • 200 g (1 cup) havarti cheese, grated
  • 80 g (¼ cup) black olives, sliced
  • 15 g (1 tbsp) chives, finely chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Cook the sausages in a frying pan or on the barbecue. Thinly slice once cooked.
  3. In a bowl, mix the broccoli florets, peppers, havarti cheese and black olives. Season to taste. Set aside.
  4. Place the pita bread on a cookie sheet and spread tomato sauce on each one.
  5. Add toppings and bake in the oven for 3 to 5 minutes.
  6. Cut each pizza into quarters.
How to Serve
  1. Pile the slices of pizza on top of each others.
  2. Add a few drops of tomato sauce and some finely chopped chives.

Culinary Comment:

Canada's Food Guide recommends we eat at least two servings of dairy products a day. One serving of cheese is 50 g, which is the amount of cheese in a serving of this stacked pizza.
