- 4 Greek pita bread (or cooked pizza crust)
- 6 Authentic Pork & Beef Sausages
- 250 ml (1 cup) tomato sauce
- 150 g (¾ cup) broccoli florets (not the stem)
- 150 g (¾ cup) red, yellow and green peppers, diced
- 200 g (1 cup) havarti cheese, grated
- 80 g (¼ cup) black olives, sliced
- 15 g (1 tbsp) chives, finely chopped
- Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Cook the sausages in a frying pan or on the barbecue. Thinly slice once cooked.
- In a bowl, mix the broccoli florets, peppers, havarti cheese and black olives. Season to taste. Set aside.
- Place the pita bread on a cookie sheet and spread tomato sauce on each one.
- Add toppings and bake in the oven for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Cut each pizza into quarters.
- Pile the slices of pizza on top of each others.
- Add a few drops of tomato sauce and some finely chopped chives.
Culinary Comment:
Canada's Food Guide recommends we eat at least two servings of dairy products a day. One serving of cheese is 50 g, which is the amount of cheese in a serving of this stacked pizza.
