Ingredients
- 4 canned pear halves, drained
- 4 slices Express Lafleur Seasoned and Cooked Roast Beef Round
- 4 slices French bread
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 15 mL (1 tbsp.) Dijon mustard
- 1 to 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 5 mL (1 tsp.) paprika
- 160 mL (2/3 cup) your choice of oil
- 45 to 60 mL (3 to 4 tbsp.) white or red wine vinegar
- Salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste
- 1 to 1.25 L (4 to 5 cups) mixed lettuce
Preparation
- Preheat oven to broil.
- Slice pear halves to form a fan. Set aside.
- Place a slice of beef, half pear and slice of cheese on each piece of bread.
- Bake canapés in oven until cheese melts.
- Prepare vinaigrette by mixing mustard, garlic and paprika. Add oil gradually while stirring with a whisk. Add vinegar and season to taste.
- Pour vinaigrette over lettuce, toss and divide evenly among four plates.
Serve a hot canapé with salad.
