Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to broil.
  2. Slice pear halves to form a fan. Set aside.
  3. Place a slice of beef, half pear and slice of cheese on each piece of bread.
  4. Bake canapés in oven until cheese melts.
  5. Prepare vinaigrette by mixing mustard, garlic and paprika. Add oil gradually while stirring with a whisk. Add vinegar and season to taste.
  6. Pour vinaigrette over lettuce, toss and divide evenly among four plates.
Serve a hot canapé with salad.
