Ingredients
- 30 mL (2 tbsp.) olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 loaf of French bread, thinly sliced
- 225 g (1/2 lb.) Lafleur Frillies Smoked Turkey Breast
- 80 mL (1/3 cup) dried tomatoes in oil, finely chopped
- 45 mL (3 tbsp.) fresh basil, finely chopped
- About 225 g (1/2 lb.) goat cheese, finely sliced
- Salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 450ºF (230ºC).
- Mix oil and garlic. Brush over slices of French bread. Place bread, oil side up, on a cookie sheet.
- Place turkey then tomatoes on bread. Sprinkle with basil. Season with salt if needed.
- Cover each canapé with a slice of goat cheese. Season with pepper to taste.
- Bake canapés in oven for 8 to 10 minutes to grill bread and melt cheese. Serve hot or cold.
Note:
If you use dried tomatoes not kept in oil, rehydrate them first by soaking in lukewarm water for about 10 minutes.
Tip:
You can prepare steps 2 to 4 of this recipe in advance. When your guests arrive, simply pop canapés into the oven !
