DUX is a program that aims to recognise initiatives that contribute to improving people’s health through food. This program falls within the framework of Melior, which is supported by the Chagnon Foundation. The DUX contest celebrates Quebec’s food industry leaders for their contributions, initiatives, product offer, and projects related to healthy eating habits. The DUX contest has named Olymel L.P. as winner of the Improved Food Product – Business production or food processing (Large Business) Category, for the significant reduction in the sodium content of all processed poultry products (reduction of 2.6 tons of salt annually).
The Lafleur Authentique deli meats and cretons are also part of this significant sodium reduction (Lafleur is a trademark owned by Olymel L.P. since 2005).
