List of ingredients
  • 4 pita breads
  • 6 Lafleur Beef Sausages
  • 250 mL (1 cup) of store-bought pizza sauce
  • 150 g (3/4 cup) of broccoli florets
  • 150 g (3/4 cup) of peppers (mix of colours), diced
  • 6 white mushrooms, sliced
  • 200 g (1 cup) of mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 80 g (1/4 cup) of black olives, sliced
  • Fresh basil, chopped
  • Extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 425 °F (220 °C).
  2. Cook sausages in a pan, let cool and cut into small slices.
  3. Mix broccoli, peppers, mushrooms and olives in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
  4. Place pita breads on an ovenproof baking sheet and brush with pizza sauce.
  5. Add vegetable toppings, ending with cheese.
  6. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
  7. Cut into slices and garnish with fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil.
Tips from the chef
  • Replace mozzarella cheese with cheddar or brie.
